wish list

The George of Harpenden is more than just a pub; every little detail has been thought through to deliver the most exciting eating and drinking experience in the picturesque town of Harpenden.

The George has been bringing people together at the heart of the Harpenden since the late 19th century. Now embedded in history, the name has retained its rightful place and transcended the test of time.

THE CHALLENGE

Although the name of the venue, so steeped in history was untouchable, the owners felt it was time to revamp this renowned venue to take the The George of Harpenden into the next chapter in this beautiful buildings history.

The new look was to be a more modern, vibrant style in shades of greens and mustard, which match the bright, airy interior to perfection.

Chantelle Lighting worked with designers Fusion DNA to provide lighting to complement the new look to perfection within budget and to deadline.

THE SOLUTION

We supplied a range of fittings for the venue, in a range of cluster and single point lighting in various warm and complementary colours.

Key feature lighting included 4 retro brushed brass 8-arm pendants and 2 8-arm antique brass pendant lights.

Clusters of glass globes, in dusty olive and jam jars were complemented by single glass etched and unetched shade fittings in amber, peach, eel and aubergine.

Completing the look were retro, clear glass globe wall lights, industrial and antique bulkheads and a range of LED, fairy and festoon lighting.

THE RESULT

Anthony Holly, Chantelle Lighting Managing Director, said: "The main challenge was to create the vision for the project to fit their budget which proved demanding but worthwhile when the fittings were not only well received but matched their The George's new interior perfectly."
