The Background

The Florist, Liverpool, offers a fairytale city-based dining experience in a sensory world of floral delights. Following hot on the heels of The Florist launch in Bristol, the Liverpool venue is a revamped Grade II listed building, formerly home to the Royal School for the Blind. Both venues are owned by the New World Trading Company.

The Challenge

As a new concept under the New World Trading Company brand, the challenge was to revamp the Grade II Hardman Street venue into a contemporary ' instagrammable' new bar and restaurant with stunning floral installations.

With an abundance of flower flowing throughout the beautiful venue and key features including a stunning entrance hall with two full-size in-bloom trees, as well as a floral photo-wall, taking centre stage at the top of the grand staircase, lighting was key.

Having already worked with Chantelle Lighting on their Botanist bran, the New World Trading Company knew that we could ensure their lighting needs; stunning lighting piece that would photography beautifully, while at the same time providing a light, welcoming atmosphere throughout.

The Solution

Chantelle Lighting worked closely with the New World Trading Company to create a range of lighting exclusive to The Florist and the results are nothing short of jaw-dropping.

In the grand entrance to the historic building, a 25ft drop feature pendant hanging over the staircase catches your eye, with a variety of clear and mercury glass, cage and exposed bulbs dressed with an assortment of flowers.

Two full-size in-bloom trees are illuminated to perfection, drawing you into the venue and intrigued as to what's next.

Dramatic bespoke centrepieces adorned with colourful floral displays take pride of place throughout the venue, complemented by a range of vintage and industrial-inspired pendants and wall lights.

Key installations include a rustic timber wheel chandelier with hammered copper trim and mercury glass pendant drops and two industrial copper mesh feature pendant with multi-bulb and mercury glass drops above the dining area and a vintage style ladder chandelier with exposed bulb drops in the lounge area; each one dressed to perfection with an assortment of brightly coloured flowers.

Interspersed around the dining and lounge areas the venue Chantelle Lighting's Industrial style pendants with reversed funnel shades and a copper trim, industrial pendant with vented tube and holophane glass shades.

LED downlights with straw filter and honeycomb louvre providing the functional lighting alongside a variety of track lighting, complemented by mustard sulphur mood wall lights

And the feature tree lighting system illuminates the tree which brings the outside into this stunning venue.

The Result

The Florist truly is a masterpiece like no other. A look at this venue's Instagram feed demonstrates the beauty it exudes ; and our lighting is key to its overall beauty.
