The Greenbank Hotel dates back to 1640, when it was once a private residence. The beautiful building is nestled on Falmouth harbour and makes its mark as the oldest hotel in the area. The hotel really does blend the best of coastal living with the finest in contemporary comfort, so guests can experience life...on the water's edge.

The challenge

Owners of the Greenbank Hotel were looking for a complete refurbishment of the bar and restaurant area, and hired Dynargh Design to carry out the work.

The location by the sea and the traditional, classic feel to the hotel were features they wished to keep, but they also felt it was important to add a slightly contemporary edge to the look of the interior to keep up with the times.

In terms of the lighting, Dynargh Design wanted to make more of a feature of the lighting and create a real talking point for guests, allowing the modern edge to shine through.

The solution

Chantelle Lighting was approached by Dynargh Design about its very own Manor range; a selection of cut glass decanters inspired by historic halls and estates in its home county of Lancashire.

Dynargh, inspired by a wine glass chandelier they had seen elsewhere, had an original three-tier chandelier in mind and the Manor proved to be an ideal fit. 

Manufactured at the Chantelle factory, the chandeliers were eye catching and contemporary, but still classic looking; they complemented the interior of the restaurant and bar, and brought a new dimension to the overall look and feel.

The result

Both Greenbank Hotel and Dynargh Design were thrilled with the finished result. The chandeliers created a sparkle effect from the glass, which was noticeable throughout the area; they added a little bling and glam to the room, and were a great focus for guests.
