The Village Hotel chain is a highly successful part of the De Vere Group and said to be one of the best kept secrets in hospitality, offering everything that the discerning guest, whether travelling for business or leisure purposes, could possibly want.

Each hotel has been cleverly designed around a village theme, with stand-alone leisure clubs complemented by adjacent dining, hotel and conference facilities. This format ensures that the chain meets the needs of the local community as well as providing a welcoming base for hotel guests.

The Challenge 

 De Vere was planning to refurbish the Vinny and Vito Restaurants that form part of the facilities on offer at each hotel.

 The tasty Italian dishes served in Vinny and Vito makes these popular venues and the challenge for Chantelle Lighting was to provide quirky but stylish accessory lighting that would not only complement the new decor, but also provide a talking point for diners.

The Solution

Chantelle Lighting provided bespoke chandeliers skilfully designed and created out of empty beer bottles - a fun touch that was both stylish and quirky and perfectly suited to a restaurant environment.

From the outset, these provided a real focal point and have sparked many a conversation among diners as well as much admiration.

"We already had a good working relationship with Chantelle's managing director Anthony Holly and the other guys in the design team there," said Linda Matlin, at De Vere.

"And we knew if there anything suitable on Chantelle's website, they would work with our design team at Greyline Design and come up with something that would fit the bill perfectly.

"Just as importantly, Chantelle always meets our tight schedules and offers a good price."

The result

"Our aim at The Village is to provide a local village feel where guests are encouraged to make use of all of the facilities, so all our designs have to be functional as well as looking quirky," said Linda.

"Chantelle Lighting offers us functional but fun design elements, like the beer bottle chandeliers, that meet our budgets and look good, which is why we like working with them and will continue to do so in future projects."
