WOW! it seems universities are pulling out all the stops to attract students through their doors.

We have looked after a number of university projects recently, and the end results have been nothing short of incredible.

From huge ring pendant lights to tear drop feature lights, universities are leading the charge for contemporary lighting.

Let's have a look at some of the recent projects we have been involved in:

University of Birmingham Hotel & Conference Centre

Customer: Rexel

We were asked to create six contemporary undulated black ribbon disc pendant for restaurant area, three x 3 metre ring pendants in gold with acrylic diffuser for the conference room and three 2 metre black tube pendants with ribbon detailing for the main entrance.

Liverpool Hope University (Cornerstone Building)

Customer: Edmundson Electrical

The university was looking to update its cafe area and we provided the lighting to complement its modern decor. Tear drop feature lighting with LED bulbs adorned the ceiling of the cafe, with 4 medium Aether lights and 2 Art Deco black and white acrylic pendants interspaced between.

Portland Building, University of Nottingham

Customer: Deanhouse Interiors

The project required three bespoke industrial ring pendant lights, each fitted with 30 LED lamps and three satin black glass globe chandeliers for the coffee shop.

University of Leicester

Customer: Henry Boot Construction

We supplied 10 bespoke hexagonal feature ring pendants with 30 led lamps to sit above the tables in the cafe. These were complemented by five ceiling pendants in skimmingstone finish and wooden bobbin top, eight industrial black wire cage pendant and two vintage letter lighting features spelling 'EAT'.

Howard Gardens, Cardiff

Customer: 4D Lighting

Student accommodation has certainly changed for the better in recent tears! We created two bespoke black LED colour changing ring pendants for Howards Gardens main entrance and two Industrial gun metal trough pendants for above the tables in the entrance area.

Windsor House, Cardiff

Another student accommodation project was Windsor House, Cardiff where eight blackened steel industrial rings with 44 led lamps take centre stage above tables and in seating area. These feature lights are complemented by five single pendant with industrial cages in an antique finish, seven rustic Edison filament bulbs hung on black flex, 21 single ceiling spotlights with adjustable lamp heads, four industrial gun metal trough pendants and three single black matt pendants with cream inners
