As we head into a new year we take a peek into new trends likely to make an appearance in 2018.

The use of materials such as brassgoldsilvermarble and copper show no sign of diminishing in popularity any time soon, but there also looks to be some new lighting trends which will be the next big thing.

Being asked to design and create lighting that makes people look good looks set to be the main request of 2018, as designers aim to satisfy the selfie generation who are always on the hunt for the perfect place to take their next interesting Instagram snap.

With this in mind, soft, neutral colour tones look set to be replaced by bolder, more vivid colour schemes.

Our Sulphur range has been popular with designers since we launched the exclusive paint finish and with colours including orange, red, mustard, blue and green and they look set to become one of our

after product ranges in 2018 as designers inject some colour into their projects.

Another key trend in satisfying the selfie generation will be bespoke feature light fittings, perfect for creating an unusual backdrop to photos.

From huge chandeliers to the use of unusual materials, custom-designed light fittings will help venues to stand out from the competition and become the must visit
bar, restaurant or hotel.

Industrial themes will continue to be big in 2018 but perhaps with more of a focus on polished nickel and silver, bringing something fresh to this ever-popular trend.

Chrome will also feature heavily in interior design trends in 2018 with restaurants and bars looking to build on its popularity in recent Gucci and Kenzo catwalk collections.

Here at Chantelle Lighting, we’re always looking for inspiration for the next big lighting trends and are excited about using some of these current popular materials and designs in our work over the coming months. Watch this space to see the finished result of some of these projects.
